Toric contact lenses

People who have astigmatism were told they couldn’t wear anything but glasses to correct their vision.  But times have changed and these people can now wear toric contact lenses.  They come in disposable, frequent replacement, multifocal and colored varieties.  Unless you have a very complex prescription, toric contact lenses may be what you have been looking for.

Toric lenses are made from the same material as regular or spherical contacts.  They can come in soft or RGP, rigid gas permeable and have two unique qualities about them.  First, they are created with curvatures at different angles, one for astigmatism and one for either hyperopia or myopia.  It is important that they remain stable on the eye so there is a mechanism to keep them in place.

Many brands offer toric contacts in frequent replacement, disposable and everyday use varieties.  They are available in a full range of colors to either enhance your natural eye color or change it completely.  Most colored lenses are conventional, non-disposable types.  Check out the retailers on line that offer a full range of products from leading manufacturers at great prices.
